Literary Open Stage  - Sharing Favorite Poems: A Lanier Library Poetry Month Event

Focus on poetry. Bring one of your favorite poems to the Literary Open Stage and read it for an audience that loves literature, especially poetry. Doors open at 6:30 pm. Readings are in order of sign ups.

 

April 29, 2017, Saturday 10 am - 1 pm, $35 registration fee

Poetry Month Workshop hosted by Cathy Smith Bowers

This workshop is designed to provide sensitive and constructive responses to poems that are ready for feedback. We will discuss all aspects of each poem including tone, subject matter, theme, language and line (the placement of the poem on the page). A special emphasis will be placed on the phystiology of sound so that we might make more rational decisions in the diction and syntax of our poems. Each person should submit 2 poems to the library by April 23. Participation is limited to 12 registrants.
